This module addresses the importance of using people-first language when referring to individuals with disabilities or special needs. Educators will receive pointers on what language can be appropriately used. 

"Disabilities A to Z" is an introductory module designed to acquaint educators with common disability terms and available resources in the state of Texas. At the end of this module educators will:

1. be able to define disabilities and locate resources that are specific to their community.
2. become aware of legal obligations that they have toward individuals who have disabilities, and
3. apply what they have learned through a review activity.  

This course is designed to build employee understanding of Extension´s roles & responsibilities in Emergency Management. This includes a programmatic perspective from both a state and county level. It also includes the Agency´s roles & responsibilities to its employees in emergency situations. 

This course provides training and resources needed by all employees. Topics include how to prepare for disaster at the personal level, access to the National Incident Management System (NIMS) training, and how media relations differ during an emergency situation. This course also gives an overview of resources available through Extension Disaster Education Network (EDEN). 

Extension faculty and volunteer/support groups must assume responsibility for compliance with cash management principles and practices to ensure that Texas Cooperative Extension maintains the public´s trust in the future. This course provides an opportunity to refresh your Cash Management knowledge.
