In Texas, the Cottage Food Law allows residents to prepare and sell specific foods from an unlicensed residential (home) kitchen. This course is designed to help people who want to start a cottage food production operation out of their residence. Through this course individuals will gain knowledge of the Texas Cottage Food Law and general rules and best practices for preparing food safely.

The course addresses information a consumer needs to know, as well as questions to ask, to make informed decisions when purchasing food products from a Cottage Food Production Operation or Cottage Food Business.

Texas Food Handlers Course: Food Safety It´s in Your Hands
Texas Department of State Health Services accredited food handlers program is now being offered online! This class is recommended for all food service employees to help promote the service of safe food. The class is a basic overview of food safety principles and practices that are necessary to ensure you serve safe food at your establishment. Upon completion of this course you will be able to print a Food Handlers card that is valid for 2 years. The course fee does not cover any fees associated with your local health department.
